my mum has type 1 diabetes.. she first got diagnosed by having reallly bad Diabetic ketoacidosis and brink of death.
to sum it up and keep this short.

she refuses to often take insulin.. she has 2 take it 3 times daily but only takes it once daily because she says it hurts . and she doesnt take her other meds for thyroid and heart condition.. she is very stubburn. she doesnt like medical treatment either. refused to go doctors for the last 3 months for a check up.

she eats what she likes. she eats chocolate buscuits, fruit juice,fruit,softdrinks on a daily basis.

she thinks because she doesnt feel sick that its ok. she has also stopped checking her BGL. explained above.

i try tell her to do the right thing but it ends up in a daily fight so i stopped because it never works.

she is very stubborn.. she has now had a bad tummy ache for the last hour and has vomited once.
she has not passed any urine.

i cannot call her doctor because its 6am on a sunday and her doctor doesnt even open on sundays.

what can i do?

Call 911. NOW. Tell them she’s a brittle type 1 diabetic and she’s sick and they’ll be right over. It might just be she ate something a little spoiled, but you can’t take chances with diabetes, especially type 1. She sounds possibly dehydrated. Call NOW.
