  4. God understands there are certain limitations in people about fasting…Total fasting is not required of all people…Just do enough to stay healthy…If you do it with an earnest heart it will be fine.

  5. My religion we are suppossed to fast. But I am excused, and not held accountable of disobeying or anything because of my diabtetes..Pregnant women are the same with that.

  6. That is only for those medicaly able to fast. No diabetic (at least not type 1) could do that. For any fasting blood work My dr. (I’m a type 1) has always told me try to fast for 8 hrs. not the 12 recomended.

  7. It depends on the type and the treatment. I use a pump and I can fast with no problems. Some of the newer insulins without peaks allow people to fast to. However, not all people are the same and some are just too brittle no matter what and are no able to fast without their blood sugar dropping dangerously low. Many type 2 diabetics would have no problems although, again, it depends on their treatment.
