as far as i know there is no cure for losing sight due to diabetes. but you should talk to your medical doctor to see about some drops to protect the other eye. or to slow the process…

Optic nerve damage is "irreparable" !
But maybe you can check up with a good ophthalmologist to know the extent of damage and to prevent the further damage .
Be sure about your control on Diabetes (diet , medicines etc) , if thats the primary cause.
